About Molder & Forge

Molder & Forge is a massage therapy and personal training service owned and operated by strength athletes. We approach fitness challenges from a place of empathy, education, and strategy. We seek to provide an environment where clients learn to ask the right questions, understand their unique body, and ultimately, how to treat themselves better.

Our philosophy on fitness starts with empathy. We understand the physical and emotional toll that injuries or physical limitations can take on your wellness. Environmental factors such as your diet, exercise, work-life balance, sleep, and mental health directly impact your quality of life. At Molder & Forge, we believe that in order to improve one’s quality of life, you must first understand the unique factors in your environment that are impacting you. Understanding your body and how you treat it is the first step towards accepting yourself, and forging the life you aspire to live.

Our mission is to help you live your life better. Our massage therapy services, ranging from relaxation to sports maintenance, are designed to prevent and revitalize your physical and mental stressors. Carey Kauffman

FOUNDER

Carey began working in fitness in 2017 at North Carolina State University. When she began working as a NASM Certified personal trainer in 2018 she was caught thinking “how can I give my clients a better understanding of their body, and the root cause of their physical ailments?"

While working towards her major in Applied Nutrition and Sports Science, Carey came across massage therapy, which has only been a licensed profession for around 20 years. Massage therapy allows her to address problems directly rather than approaching rehabilitation from a reactive method.

While receiving her education in massage therapy she noticed a need for a greater number of medical-based massage therapists focused on pain management and sports-related needs.

Carey feels she has a unique perspective and approach to health through the lens of a fitness professional with specific training in maintainable fat-loss based nutrition and rehabilitative exercises and stretches. As the Head Strength Coach at Capital Strength and Conditioning she has experience creating strength training programs for a wide range of people from athletic and stationary  lifestyles.

Carey created Molder and Forge to create a comfortable open environment to help people learn about their bodies and move better. Molder and Forge allows Carey to focus on the personal interaction with clients to tangibly impact their body and their life.

 Adapt & Overcome

Molder & Forge is a massage therapy and personal training service owned and operated by strength athletes. We want you to emerge with the tools and knowledge you need to sustain your body’s wellness far beyond your time with us. With Molder & Forge, you will adapt and overcome.

The Peppered Moth

ADAPTATION & RESILIENCE

At Molder & Forge, we believe that your body is unique, so your challenges and how you overcome them are unique, too. Our icon, the peppered moth, helps tell this story. The peppered moth appears in three primary forms: The white, also known as typica; the black, carbonaria; and the intermediate, medionegra.

In the height of the English industrial revolution, when soot and ash covered the landscape, evolutionary researchers observed the emergence of the black peppered moth over the once dominant white peppered moth. The sudden dominance of the carbonaria phenotype indicated that the challenge to camouflage in the new soot-covered city prompted the moths to adapt their bodies in order to preserve themselves. After the end of the industrial revolution, the white peppered moth re-emerged, re-adapting to the restored environment.

Much like the peppered moth, your body adapts to your unique challenges. Your environment, your sport, your injuries, your stressors, and your view of your body are all factors that impact your overall wellness. We are here to help you adapt your body to meet your challenges so you can live your life better.
